Objectives of the course

Upon completion of the course students should be able to outline the main stages of development in women’s involvement in Christian ministry.

They will know the background of the ordination of women deacons.

They will be aware of the various social and cultural prejudices that gradually caused the ban on women’s ministerial leadership to be enshrined in Church law.

They will have gained a better grasp of the correct rules of assessing what is, and what is not, genuine Christian Tradition.
