This is an optional course. Its purpose is to show you how you can strengthen your character and become a good leader. The course is one way of preparing yourself for effective studies and a meaningful life.

The course has five lessons. Each suggests exercises that help you integrate the main principle into your own thinking.

If register yourself for the course and complete the exercises of each lesson and a final assessment paper, you will receive a certificate from our Virtual College. Details about registration are given at the end of each lesson.

Believe in yourself Lesson 1. Believe in yourself

Character often requires stepping out of social roles and asserting our own dignity in the face of opposition.

Live with integrity Lesson 2. Live with integrity

Honesty demands that we question our dearest held views if they go against established fact or reason. We should treasure a critical mind and healthy doubts.
Study and fight Lesson 3. Study, listen and fight

We should put all effort into educating ourselves as well as possible. We should listen to our opponents before we fight them.
Examine every tradition Lesson 4. Examine Tradition before trusting it

Tradition is not always our best friend. If it proves unreliable, we may need to reject it even if it brings us in conflict with social and religious authorities.
Be generous and GIVE Lesson 5. Be generous and GIVE

Being self-centered and selfish does not produce greatness or happiness. Paradoxically, we become fruitful personalities by giving of ourself to others.
